The Language of Suggestion — The Power of Words
Words work in hypnosis two ways: literally and metaphorically. The clinician who tells them apart opens a door to lasting change.
Words work twofold in hypnosis. On one side they fall literally on the body — “a deep breath” really opens the lungs. On the other they crack open metaphor — “deep peace” calls the inner well.
In Muezzinoglu's practice words like “HEAVY”, “DEEP”, “TO STICK”, “TO MERGE” are chosen carefully. When a client hears a sentence they look up both the dictionary and their inner world; the effect arises at the intersection.
That is why the paternal suggestions in the Muezzi Technique — “you are clever, wise, modern, valuable” — are not flattery: they remind the client of an identity that has always been theirs. In the confirmation phase the client anchors these in their own voice: “I have reached peace, I have found strength, I have found healing.”
The power of speech crosses that soft bridge between the literal and the metaphorical. In hypnosis every word is therefore chosen with at least the same care as a medical prescription.
